I love my job! ACC Ice week

The past week I was fortunate enough to be asked by Sean Isaac to join him and Erica Roles in working the annual ACC ice week. 10 amazing participants from as far as Thunder Bay and the UK came for this week of ice skills and fun.

Normally this week has run beside the Banff Film fest, but hasn’t always had the prime ice conditions that we would have wanted. This year, however, a couple weeks later, the camp had a bunch of ice options, which was a real treat. Our crux this time around though was the wind and snow resulting in some pretty high avi hazards.

During the week we were still able to climb in a bunch of places…King Creek, Haffner, Playground, Grotto…I had a fun day on Rogans, Moonlight and a day in the Ghost attempting to get into the Valley of the Birds and climbing in the sun on the GBU.

All in all, it was a great week. Lots of good energy, good laughs, tough weather conditions, but fun fun times! Thanks to the ACC for hosting this camp, to Sean and Erica for working so hard and to all the participants who wanted more from their week of vacation then a sun tan and mojitos!
